Just sharing what I'm seeing.
There's a type of person I keep noticing in AI discussions online - I call them the status seekers.Â
You know the ones. They trash AI because they think they're "above it" or "too good for it." They wear "swearing off AI" as some badge of honor and ridicule anyone who uses it.
These are the same people who say using AI in any way for copywriting or content creation is "cheating." But they're playing a fundamentally different game than AI Copywriting Pro subscribers.Â
They're playing status games. We're playing growth games.
They're just reacting emotionally to change. We see this pattern throughout the history of technology - an unwillingness to adapt, to learn, to grow.
They're always on the wrong side of history. Instead of embracing change, they try to convince others not to change. They cling to what they know.Â
As Kipp Bodnar, CMO of HubSpot, says on Marketing Against the Grain: "Be a learn-it-all, not a know-it-all."
On some level I get where they're coming from. But watch what they actually do.
- Spend 30 seconds writing garbage prompts
- Ask surface-level questions the tools weren't built for
- Post screenshots saying "See? It's all generic!"
- Rage post for retweets and likes
It's pure status signaling.
Naval Ravikant famously said in an interview called How to Get Rich there are two games in life - wealth creation games and status games. I'm seeing a lot of people playing status games with AI right now.
This newsletter is about growth & wealth creation games. Full stop.
Let me be clear that I don't want everything to be hyper-AIified (yes, that's a word now). I think there's going to be a huge market for non-AI stuff. That's totally fine. Not using AI isn't inherently bad.
But I want AI Copywriting Pro subscribers to leverage AI tools to build better lives, grow your businesses, make more money, and generate wealth you can invest in new ventures or use to land better clients and build stronger brands.
If you're here to actually build something real with AI - not in some bullshit way, but in a way that creates genuine value - you're in the right place.
Everyone else can keep playing status games on LinkedIn/Twitter.
P.S. Want to talk through how you're using ChatGPT / Claude? I do paid 1-hour sessions where we can answer any questions about AI for copywriting, VOC data, prompting methodology and examples across email, web copy, social & blogging. We'll work through your specific challenges and I'll show you what's actually working for me.
